Turmeric - Latin Name: Curcuma longa. It's is a powerful antioxidant. It's anti-inflammatory, promotes brain health, heart health and joint health. It strengthens the liver and fights cancer, Osteoarthritis, rheumatism, depression, Alzheimers disease and diabetes. It's good for the stomach, fights candida infection and IBS. It helps weight loss and is good for skin. For best medical effect, take Turmeric together with piperine (found in black pepper) to boost the bioavailability. One warning, Turmeric is very high in Oxalates. Too much turmeric may increase the risk of kidney stones. Do not eat excessive amounts. To get around the problem, eat Curcumin (yellow color dye in Turmeric) that has a very low level of Oxalates.
