Chia seeds is a real super food. They contain omega-3, more antioxidants than blueberries, more vitamin C than oranges, are anti-inflammatory, can contribute to weight loss and strengthens the immune system. Chia seeds have 21% protein and contain large amounts of magnesium, calcium, potassium and zinc and fiber.
To harness the full power of Chia you must crush the seeds to obtain all the nutrients out from the seeds. Otherwise, much of the nutrients just passes through the body and out again unused. Thus, it's best to use Chia seed flour. Ok it might not look as pretty in the smoothie but it's more efficient.
