Depression
If you have problems with depression, anxiety, feeling down and stressed out there are several things that might help you. Natural medicine has a lot to offer and is well proven. The Gut-Brain Connection, the gut-brain-axis should also be taken into account. As a Christian my best advice is to give your life to Jesus Christ.

Help on the way
This page focuses mostly on how to counteract and cure depression, anxiety and stress with dietary supplements. This may not be able to fix everything because the mental and spiritual aspects of depression is often very large. Good treatments and natural supplements are listed on this page such as transcranial magnetic stimulation, Lithium Orotate, Tryptophan, Magnolia bark, St John's wort, Saffron, L-theanine, 5-HTP, Magnesium, Vitamin B12, Valerian root, Matcha, Candida diet and Herbal tea. Prescribed medicines with serious harmful side effects are mentioned at the very bottom of this page. I have often been depressed in my life and I have also been addicted to sugar, sweets and junk food. If you have bad eating habits and eat a lot of sugar you destroy your intestines. You get a yeast overgrowth in your stomach. It's also called Candida infection or Candidasis. This bacterial imbalance affects the mind negatively. If you are addicted to sugar you are probably also often very tired and decrepit. Make changes in your diet and the tiredness will disappear. Stop eating sugar. If you eat a consciously varied diet you will get the nutrients you need through the food. Then you can compensate with a few dietary supplements.
Spirituality and Christian faith
God is real. He has created you. You are created in his image and He loves you. Jesus Christ welcomes all persons who turns to Him in faith. It's fantastic when you realize that God is real, that he exists, that he has created you and me, for a purpose. He wants to have a relationship, He wants our friendship.

Lithium Orotate
Lithium Orotate consists of orotic acid and Lithium and is able to cross the blood-brain barrier very effectively, it's available over the counter. It's a good treatment for mood disorders, hyperactivity, anxiety, panic attacks, behavioral health issues such as bipolar disorder and treatment-resistant depression with suicidal thinking.
Lithium is present in the diet, mainly in grains and vegetables.
"Using data for 27 Texas counties from 1978-1987, it is shown that the incidence rates of suicide, homicide, and rape are significantly higher in counties whose drinking water supplies contain little or no lithium than in counties with water lithium levels ranging from 70-170 micrograms/L."
Lithium orotate treatment should be around 5 mg to 20 mg per day. Some recommend starting with 5 mg and then step up to 20 mg. But perhaps 5 mg is enough? Treatment with Lithium orotate is likely to avoid all the negative side effects that comes with traditional Lithium treatment that ranges between 300 mg, 600 mg or 1200 mg per day.

gastro-intestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and mental health
"There is compelling evidence that most organic human diseases also have psychiatric component. This is especially common in gastro-intestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease. Altered intestinal microbiota, i.e., dysbiosis has been found to be strongly associated with these conditions. In the light of research on human microbiome, it is now possible to explain the significance of gut microbial consortia in mental health. Among numerous commensal gut microbes, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Saccharomyces exert beneficial health effects by restoring the balance of gut flora."

Herbal teas
Green tea or herbal tea is fantastic and healing for both body and mind. Pick the herbs yourself in the forest, garden and make your own green tea. Or buy it. There are many herbs to choose from. Since herbs are so effective they are a serious threat to big pharmaceutical corporations and their products. That is why there is so much negative information about medical herbs. They say things like: "study not proven" or "not scientifically proven" or "dangerous" etc. Search information yourself.

Calamus root cold brewed tea makes you feel good. I have tried it. It brightens up the mind. The herb is very strong so it should be taken with moderation. Don't make the tea to strong and don't drink too much. 6 teaspoons Calamus tea per day is maximum. To be taken with meals, before and after. Due to lack of scientific studies, pregnant women should not take Calamus.

Antidepressant medications can cause suicide
Antidepressant medications are often full of toxic chemicals. This harms the nerves, brain and increases the risc of suicide.
My advice: go for a natural medicine if possible.
"The previous assumptions that treatment with antidepressants would lead to a drastic reduction in suicide rates, are incorrect for the population of young women. On the contrary, it was found that an increasing tendency of completed suicides follow the increased prescription of antidepressants"
