Sin as a cause of illness. Spiritual hindrances to healing.
Sickness can sometimes be caused by sin. It is described in several places in the Bible when people have sinned or rebelled against God and God has struck them with sickness temporarily or for good. Death itself is caused by our sin. God has set a limit on how long we can live in our fallen earthly bodies because we as the human race have chosen to walk away from God and go our own way. Because man in the beginning chose to disobey God and sin, we lost the glory of God and the perfect life that God intended was destroyed. The harmony was destroyed. The relationship with God was seriously damaged. So God decided that we must not live forever but until we are about 120 years old. Then we die. And it is caused by our sin. The sin nature is passed on from generation to generation. All are infected by sin. All men except Jesus Christ. And he can and wants to save us from sin, sickness and eternal death. He can do it.

Forgiveness is key to God's kingdom
This topic is not so easy to write about because everything is not so crystal clear. There are many evil sinful people who are in good health, who are alive and well, who are successful. At the same time, there are many God-fearing holy men and women who have illness, sometimes lifelong illness, so this subject is not always so obvious. We live in a fallen world where many different things can cause sickness and death, even medicines can do it. But there is a connection between the soul and the body. Someone has said, "If you don't listen when the soul whispers, the body will scream."
If you are seriously ill, it may be wise to examine yourself and bring things that are hidden to the surface. Only then can psychological or spiritual causes of illness be addressed. Questions for you: Are you bitter at someone? Jealous? Do you hate someone? Perhaps you have been exposed to something terrible by another person or several others. In that case, you have to forgive these people in order to have peace of mind. Jesus said that since he has forgiven you of your sins, you must forgive those who have wronged you. If you carry unforgiveness in your heart, it is something that destroys your relationship with God. Unforgiveness stands between you and your salvation. You must forgive if God is to forgive you and save you, heal you from sickness.
Pride punished with leprosy
King Uzziah was abundantly blessed by God because he did what was right in God's eyes. God helped him to become very powerful. Then he became proud and haughty and entered the temple and wanted to burn incense even though this work was only intended for the priests. God struck him with leprosy that he had to live with until he died.
