Schizophrenia - psychosis
If you have Schizophrenia or psychosis there are many things you can do to improve your situation. A change in dietary habits can accomplish a lot.
Ketogenic diet/Low carbohydrate diet seems to be very effective in Schizophrenia.
There are herbs and supplements to regulate and improve sleep.
Conversations with a psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, priest, support groups, intercession and pastoral care, a steady community to participate in are also a very valuable help. Don't forget that God loves you and that He is merciful. Pray to Him. Pray to Jesus.

I had psychoses
I had several severe psychoses in 2020 and was diagnosed with schizophrenic psychosis. I was hospitalized and took meds.
Prior ro my psychoses I had lived an ascetic lifestyle with a very nutrient poor diet. I also stayed up at night between 00-01 to pray for one hour.
So my body got to little nutrients and to little sleep. It was no wonder that I finally broke down. One thing that, among other things, I probably lacked was probably vitamin B 12.
I'm sort of recovering right now. I got a job through the employment agency, wage subsidy employment at a retirement home. It's quite ok. I meet a lot of people at the job and I have nice working mates.
I take a shot every 14 days, Risperidone Consta. I don't really like it. I am not forcibly medicated but certain circumstances mean that I have to take the injections anyway. But I would like to stop.
I hope this page can help people in the same situation. The prescribed medicines, some are good but many are really awful with harmful side effects and should be avoided.

Ketogenic diet/Low carbohydrate diet
(from dietdoctor.com) The following is a summary of a patient case published in February 2009 in Nutrition&Metabolism:
CD
CD is a 70-year-old white woman, diagnosed with schizophrenia since she was 17 years old. This is due to, among other things, paranoia and hallucinations. She could see skeletons, and hear voices telling her to hurt herself. She had experienced such hallucinations since the age of seven.
She had been hospitalized at least five times in the past six years due to suicidal attempts and increased psychotic symptoms. She had overdosed on medication, cut herself and drank cleaning products.
She was on extensive medication for her illness, but it had not had a very good effect.
She also had severe obesity (141 kilos - BMI 53) and, among other things, high blood pressure and sleep apnea.
Low carbohydrate diet
She was advised to reduce carbohydrates in her diet to no more than 20 grams per day (unlimited meat and eggs, some cheese and vegetables).
On a return visit after 7 days, she reported feeling well, and experiencing increased energy.
On another return visit after 19 days, she told me that she no longer saw skeletons or heard voices. Something she noticed when she woke up on the eighth day on a low-carbohydrate diet. She hadn't changed the medication, just the diet. She now ate steak, chicken, turkey, ham, fish, green beans, tomato, diet soda and water. Her weight was 136 kilos.
For 12 months, C.D. continued. on a low-carbohydrate diet, and did not recover voice or visual hallucinations. She went down to 131 kilos. She had had 2-3 periods where she ate carbohydrates for a couple of days, but no hallucinations in connection with it.

Candida infection or Candida Overgrowth
Candida albicans is a normal part of your gut bacterial flora. But sometimes this bactera gets the wrong proportions and becomes to big agressive.
This can happen if you have bad eating habits. Then you have a candida infection or Candida Overgrowth. It means you now have the wrong bacterial balance in your gut.
Candida infection makes you constant tired and craving for sugar ans sweets. It also affects the mind negatively with mood swings, depressions, dizzines etc.
Candida infection has many syptoms such as bloated stomach, bad breath, white toungue, acid reflux, gases, stomach pain, pain and itch in anus or vagina, a swampy feeling between legs, poor immunity, you are often sick.
It's because you have a leeky gut. Candida infection destroys the intestinal wall and makes it porous. This means that residual waste and waste products that would normally be passed out via the faeces instead now pass straight into the bloodstream! This goes on 24/7 and then you can understand what serious consequences this has for your body. It's possible to cure candida infection by the food and supplements. There are lists on what to eat and what to not eat. You should change the diet for a few months to get back into balance.
The big culprits are sugar, wheat flour, yeast, antibiotics, birth control pills, alcohol and fast food.
